My Approach
In a world that loves picture-worthy event work and trendy, artisanal floral design, it’s been hard to feel relevant while I’m making casket sprays, answering phones, and running my little brick-and-mortar flower shop in rural Virginia.
The thing is, though, the majority of thriving floral businesses in the US and around the world are just like mine: small shops that primarily serve their local community.
At this time, sustainability and wow-worthy design styles don’t feel approachable to designers that work with smaller budgets, smaller profit margins, and in smaller communities.
If you’re here, then you, like me, want to build a business and be a part of an industry that approaches big ideas like trend-forward design and environmentally-friendly practices in a way that is inclusive, empathetic, and realistic.
As an educator, mentor, and business owner, I focus on practical and profitable solutions to everyday design and sustainability problems.
